Lakshmi with your eyes so deep,

Your heart so pure within ;

Lakshmi we would want you to pray

For your prayers are bound to reach above they say.

Lakshmi's ears had always heard 

The same words of assurance.

She was so special and loved,

The favourite doll in all of town.

“Lakshmi when you go to school 

Don't forget to take the driver with you,”

To Lakshmi said mother for her safety; 

She was a girl of 10 who the world didn't know.

Lakshmi came from school one day

Head a little bowed to mother ,

“Mother the driver touched me 

And I don't think I felt so good.”

“Lakshmi shhh”, said mother,

“Don't you tell nobody about your fate

The driver will take you to school no more 

And let's add one more strip to that skirt of yours.”

Lakshmi with your eyes so deep 

Your persona has now a chink .

But Lakshmi pray all you do dear 

For your crime is not so known here.

“Lakshmi”,said uncle Sid when she was 15

“Wouldn't you want me to buy you sweets?

Short skirts replaced by Long pants.

Lakshmi thus went out with her friend

And was surrounded by a group of men instead.

Lakshmi with tears lay on the road

While the men picked up their clothes.

And she opened her eyes in a hospital then .

Men would keep her safe from casualties .

But what when the bodyguards became sinners?

“Lakshmi my dear, world to you had been cold

But Lakshmi,to protect your dignity I tried 

But women's characters are much too fragile.”
